Give a finish the right context

Sample Guide

A screen helps build a shortlist. A physical sample helps you assess the surface beside your materials and under the light where it will be used.

01

Choose a focused shortlist

Start with the product lines or effects you are drawn to. Save the exact product line, effect or series, and code for each selection, and note why it belongs in the shortlist.

  • Identify a preferred finish and any alternatives.
  • Keep reference imagery separate from a confirmed finish selection.
  • Choose Walls, Furniture, or Both for the inquiry.

02

Compare under relevant light

Review samples in more than one lighting condition used in the space. Observe them from the directions and distances that matter to the finished surface. Keep adjacent colors and materials in the comparison.

  • For a wall, consider how the surface reads across the room as well as close up.
  • For furniture, consider the top, edge, and curved surfaces that need evaluation.
  • Record the sample reference when sharing comments with your team.
03

Describe the intended substrate

If the sample discussion involves a specific substrate or application process, include that detail in your request. A visual selection and a substrate-specific application review answer different questions.

04

Request the sample details

Tell us what you want to evaluate and where the samples would be sent. Ask about the available sample format, any charges, and timing for your request.
